IVR Engineer – Real-Time Voice Pipeline (Remote)

About the role

Join a global team of top‑tier technologists to design, build, and operate production‑grade conversational voice agents. You will work on a real‑time audio pipeline where sub‑500 ms latency is the baseline, delivering natural, responsive interactions for users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate scalable conversational voice agents in production.
• Optimize the full real‑time audio pipeline to maintain sub‑500 ms latency.
• Implement voice activity detection (VAD), turn‑taking logic, and barge‑in/interruption handling.
• Coordinate streaming across Speech‑to‑Text (STT), Large Language Models (LLM), and Text‑to‑Speech (TTS) components.
• Work with multiple languages and frameworks required by the voice stack.
• Ensure reliability and performance of the end‑to‑end voice system.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Hands‑on production experience with conversational voice platforms such as Vapi, Retell, ElevenLabs, LiveKit Agents, or Pipecat.
• Deep understanding of real‑time audio pipelines, VAD, turn‑taking, barge‑in handling, and streaming coordination with sub‑500 ms latency.
• Polyglot developer comfortable with Go and Python.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
