Senior Backend Engineer – TypeScript & AI - Remote work

About the role

In this position you will build distributed systems that process data at scale, combining strong TypeScript backend engineering with large‑scale data processing and vector search capabilities. You will work on Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and integrate large language model (LLM) APIs to enable AI systems to reason over real data reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Build distributed systems handling large‑scale data processing.
• Design and maintain PostgreSQL databases with vector search capabilities.
• Develop RAG pipelines, including chunking and embedding strategies.
• Integrate with LLM APIs to power AI‑driven functionality.
• Implement event‑driven messaging to coordinate distributed workflows.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript.
• Experience with distributed systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Apache Spark for large‑scale data processing.
• Strong PostgreSQL skills and familiarity with vector databases such as pgvector or Qdrant.
• Background building RAG pipelines, chunking and embeddings.
• Experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Bedrock).
• Experience with event‑driven messaging (AWS SQS, RabbitMQ, or BullMQ).
• Advanced proficiency in English.
