AI Engineer – Temporary Contract

About the role

You will join Applaudo’s migration platform team to turn large language models into reliable, production‑ready data logic. The role focuses on synchronising changes from target systems back to source systems, handling classification and resolution of records that fail to sync. This is a 2‑month contract position with possible extension.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare migration context – functional documentation, source schema and target data model – to enable accurate LLM‑generated mappings.
• Design and tune prompts for the LLM to propose SQL queries, mappings and transformation rules, minimizing rework.
• Review and validate generated SQL and mappings against both data models, ensuring entity, field and constraint integrity.
• Resolve edge cases where the LLM output is unreliable, such as format changes or constraint conflicts.
• Build parameterised queries to detect changes on each side since the last sync, including non‑database sources like spreadsheets.
• Collaborate with the Senior Python Developer to implement safeguards for LLM‑generated SQL writes.
• Automatically classify sync failures by root cause and turn treatments into approved rules.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of software development with Python and strong SQL expertise (PostgreSQL, MySQL, BigQuery).
• At least 1 year of production‑grade LLM application experience, including hosted API integration and structured output validation.
• Proven ability to work with partially documented codebases and to use AI tools responsibly.
