Therapy Aide for Physical Therapy Clinic

About the role

The Therapy Aide supports the physical therapy team by preparing treatment areas, assisting patients, and maintaining equipment and supplies. This hands‑on role ensures a safe, clean, and efficient environment for patient care within a clinic setting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and equipment according to prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Welcome patients, help them into appropriate apparel, and address questions to reduce anxiety.
• Assist with therapeutic modalities such as heat packs, paraffin dips, whirlpools, and exercise equipment.
• Monitor patient motion, track walking time and distance, and measure mobility during sessions.
• Demonstrate proper use of equipment and exercise routines to patients.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Sterilize and position equipment, ensure preventive maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and arrange repairs.
• Manage inventory of therapy supplies, place orders, and verify receipt of items.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Previous experience in a healthcare environment is advantageous.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and interpersonal abilities.
• Attention to detail, caring nature, and ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
