Key responsibilities

• Draft and prepare immigration‑related legal documents, such as visa petitions, affidavits, appeals, and motions.
• Submit immigration petitions and applications to the appropriate agencies, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Conduct legal research on immigration laws, regulations, and case precedents.
• Communicate with clients in English and Spanish, addressing inquiries and providing case updates.
• Maintain organized case files and accurate documentation for each immigration matter.
• Prepare and review immigration forms for various visa categories.
• Support attorneys with administrative tasks related to immigration cases.
• Track visa deadlines and case progress, keeping attorneys informed.

Required profile

• At least two years of experience as a legal assistant or law clerk.
• Law degree (or equivalent) obtained in the candidate’s home country.
• Minimum two years of experience as a paralegal in a U.S. immigration law firm.
• Proficiency with legal practice software such: Clio or MyCase (preferred).
• Bilingual proficiency in English (C1 or higher) and Spanish, both spoken and written.
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with immigration‑specific databases and software.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. immigration procedures, visa types, and related forms.
• Permanent residence in Latin America.
• Owns a reliable laptop (Windows or Mac, 2017 or newer) with a stable internet connection.
