Occupational Therapist – Orthopedic Rehabilitation

About the role

The Orthopedic Medical Group is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to deliver comprehensive evaluations and treatments for orthopedic patients. The role involves direct patient care, supervision of therapy assistants, and collaboration with physicians and nurse practitioners.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and treatment plans.
• Utilize current EMR systems for documentation and billing.
• Perform objective measurements such as psychometric, isometric, and functional assessments.
• Participate in functional capacity examinations and work conditioning programs.
• Lead Patient Care Conferences and manage patient charts.
• Supervise patients in conditioning programs through OT assistants or aides.
• Oversee patient scheduling, flow, and education programs.
• Coordinate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and referral sources.
• Address quality of care issues, billing, and public relations matters.
• Assist in clinical training and schedule meetings with site management.

Required profile

• BS in Occupational Therapy (Master’s preferred).
• Active and current Occupational Therapy license.
• Experience in orthopedic rehabilitation, especially hand and elbow.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred certifications: Hand Therapist Certification, Physical Agent Modalities, or Certified Hand Therapist.
