National Security Support Officer (NO-A)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a National Security Support Officer (NO-A) to join its Office of Staff Security in Caracas. The officer will assist the supervisor in maintaining a high level of security awareness across IOM activities in Venezuela, ensuring that security policies are effectively applied and risks are managed.

Key responsibilities

• Support the supervisor in implementing IOM security policies and procedures.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the UN Security Management System (UNSMS), the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS), host‑government agencies and partner security services.
• Assist in the coordination of security awareness programmes and training for staff.
• Monitor and report on security risks, incidents and trends affecting IOM operations.
• Contribute to the preparation of security reports, briefings and contingency plans.

Required profile

• Experience in security support or related fields, preferably within an international or UN context.
• Familiarity with UN security frameworks and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the capacity to operate in a multicultural environment.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Spanish is an advantage.
