Maintenance Technician

About the role

Sotera Health is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform daily maintenance and preventative tasks on processing equipment at one of its facilities. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will troubleshoot mechanical failures, recommend corrective actions, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine daily maintenance activities and scheduled preventative maintenance on processing equipment as directed.
• Identify problems, collect data, draw conclusions, recommend corrective actions, and execute repairs promptly to restore equipment.
• Manage material needs, obtain pricing, complete purchase orders, and order supplies with supervisor approval.
• Coordinate with operations personnel and outside contractors regarding work orders.
• Adhere to all facility safety programs and assist with additional tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Five years of maintenance experience in a processing/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak fluent English.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be medically approved for respirator use.
• Ability to tolerate high temperature and humidity conditions.

Required skills

• Knowledge of 480‑volt 3‑phase power.
• Ability to read and interpret ladder logic and electrical diagrams.
• Electric motor control troubleshooting.
• Repair and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
• Operation of welding equipment and cutting torch.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and safe usage.
