Senior Production Engineer

About the role

Chevron Venezuela is hiring a Senior Production Engineer for its Centro Operacional Bare COB (Petropiar) in El Tigre, Anzoátegui, Venezuela. The engineer creates and monitors engineering databases and programming packages linked to the monitoring parameters of active, downed or communication-failed wells, produces weekly or monthly reports and alert matrices, and supports the operability and optimization of the producing wells of the Huyapari field.

Key responsibilities

• Find the best conditions to produce the maximum amount of oil at the lowest cost, based on the reservoir offer and recovery factor.
• Optimize well performance, integrity and reliability while focusing on operating costs, system capacity and production efficiency.
• Apply continuous improvement across the whole production system, from reservoir to delivery point.
• Create, manage and maintain databases of producing wells in the Huyapari field for evaluating operational parameters.
• Solve technical problems in project databases and SCADA integrations with automation, computing and telecommunications disciplines.
• Support engineering disciplines in managing, using and installing well automation tools.
• Carry out other tasks assigned by the Optimization manager, identify digital opportunities and drive digital, analytical and workflow solutions to improve data quality.
• Comply with SIHO-A regulations, facility and environmental preservation, and information asset protection.

Required profile

• Petroleum, chemical or mechanical engineer with more than 10 years of experience in production engineering and optimization of extra-heavy crude oil wells.
• Knowledge of information technology, management and data management.
• Verifiable experience with Microsoft Access, Visual Basic, SQL and Oracle.
• Knowledge of business intelligence, big data and databases, and mastery of operational, security and administrative standards and procedures.
• Good communication, adaptability, teamwork, proactivity and self-taught attitude.
• International assignments are not considered.
