About the role

We are seeking a bilingual Spanish‑English medical interpreter to provide accurate, real‑time interpretation for Spanish‑speaking patients and healthcare providers. This remote, full‑time position supports equitable access to healthcare by bridging language gaps.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret medical terminology, diagnoses, treatments, and patient information between Spanish‑speaking patients and clinicians via phone or video.
• Offer cultural mediation to help patients navigate the healthcare system and assist providers in understanding cultural nuances.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards.
• Document each interpretation session, including date, time, duration, and type of service.
• Stay current with medical terminology and healthcare practices through ongoing professional development.

Required profile

• Fluent in both Spanish and English (conversational English, fully fluent Spanish).
• Experience in medical interpretation or translation.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with healthcare environments.
• Excellent communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and ability to work under pressure.
