Remote Spanish-English Medical & Legal Interpreter

About the role

Intelex is looking for fluent Spanish‑English interpreters to provide medical and legal interpretation services on a fully remote basis. You will enable clear communication between patients, clients, and professionals in healthcare and legal settings, ensuring accuracy and cultural appropriateness.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver simultaneous and consecutive interpretation for medical and legal appointments.
• Use correct medical and legal terminology while maintaining confidentiality.
• Participate in over‑the‑phone (OPI) and video remote interpreting (VRI) sessions as scheduled.
• Maintain detailed notes and adhere to HIPAA‑compliant standards.

Required profile

• 6 months to 3 years of professional interpretation experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in medical or legal sectors.
• Reliable high‑speed internet (minimum 10 Mbps upload, 20 Mbps download) and a noise‑cancelling wired headset.
• Strong listening, note‑taking, and memory retention abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in simultaneous and consecutive interpretation.
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance requirements.
