Remote Spanish-English Medical Interpreter

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Medical Interpreter fluent in Spanish and English to work 100% remotely. You will enable effective communication between patients and healthcare providers by delivering accurate, timely interpretation in medical settings.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret spoken Spanish and English for patients and clinicians in real‑time.
• Perform both simultaneous and consecutive interpreting as required.
• Apply correct medical terminology and ensure culturally appropriate communication.
• Maintain HIPAA‑compliant confidentiality and data security.
• Handle on‑demand (OPI/VRI) and scheduled interpreting sessions.

Required profile

• 6 months to 3 years of professional interpretation experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in medical (or legal) interpreting.
• Strong listening, note‑taking, and memory retention abilities.
• Availability for flexible interpreting assignments.

Required skills

• Fluency in Spanish and English.
• Proficiency with medical terminology.
• Simultaneous and consecutive interpreting techniques.
• HIPAA‑compliant remote setup, including a wired USB headset with noise cancellation.
• Internet connection of at least 10 Mbps upload and 20 Mbps download.
