Quantity Surveyor – Airport EPC Construction

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor will lead cost estimation, measurement and commercial control for a large‑scale airport EPC project in Venezuela. Working closely with project managers, engineers, consultants and subcontractors, you will ensure the project stays within budget and complies with contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take‑offs, cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) from drawings, specifications and contracts.
• Review tender documents, drawings and contract conditions to identify commercial risks.
• Monitor project costs, produce cost reports, forecasts and financial updates.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, negotiate pricing and provide recommendations.
• Measure and value completed works for interim payment applications.
• Assess variations, change orders and claims, and maintain accurate records of quantities, costs and correspondence.
• Support monthly progress valuations, payment certificates and final account preparation.
• Review subcontractor invoices and payment applications for compliance.
• Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to verify site progress and quantities.
• Identify cost‑risk areas and propose cost‑saving opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Professional certification such as MRICS or equivalent is preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor on major construction or infrastructure projects, preferably airport or large‑scale commercial works.
• Proven experience managing BOQs, variations, claims, valuations and final accounts.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, measurement standards and cost management principles; familiarity with FIDIC contracts is a plus.
