Project Engineer – Asset Development (Petroboscán)

About the role

Chevron Venezuela is seeking a Project Engineer to lead engineering activities for brownfield and capital projects within the Petroboscán asset. The role ensures safe, cost‑effective, and high‑quality delivery of projects while aligning with Chevron Project Management System and PDVSA standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering work during pre‑FEED, early engineering, and execution phases, guaranteeing constructability.
• Provide on‑site technical leadership during construction, tie‑ins, and shutdowns, resolving execution‑driven issues.
• Manage technical interfaces with contractors and vendors, reviewing queries, deviations, and data.
• Conduct risk assessments (HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS) and ensure designs meet safety and operational standards.
• Oversee Management of Change (MOC) compliance and support handover to operations.
• Define engineering scope, assess schedule and cost impacts, and communicate technical trade‑offs.

Required profile

• Senior‑level engineering leadership experience in oil & gas or related industrial projects.
• Proven ability to work in joint‑venture environments and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of PDVSA and international engineering standards.
