Project Assistant – GIS/Data Analyst (DTM)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a Project Assistant to support GIS and data analysis activities related to Digital Terrain Model (DTM) data in the aftermath of the recent earthquake in Venezuela. The role will contribute to timely data collection, mapping and analysis to inform humanitarian response and recovery planning.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, validate and manage DTM datasets and related geospatial information.
• Produce GIS maps and spatial analyses to identify priority needs and population movements.
• Maintain and update databases storing terrain and demographic data.
• Prepare regular reports and visualisations for internal teams and external partners.
• Support coordination with IOM field teams and other humanitarian actors.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Information Systems, Geography, Cartography or a related field with at least two years of relevant professional experience, or a university degree with four years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience working with DTM data, geospatial datasets and databases.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced emergency environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
