Portuguese Technical Reviewer for Digitalization & AI Report

About the role

We are seeking a consultant to act as the technical reviewer for the Portuguese translation of the IDB Research Department’s 2026 flagship report on digitalization and artificial intelligence in Latin America and the Caribbean. The consultant will ensure that the Portuguese version conveys the same technical meaning as the original English text.

Key responsibilities

• Receive English chapters (Word) and associated data (Excel) and their draft Portuguese translations.
• Review and edit the Portuguese files to verify technical accuracy and consistent use of economic terminology.
• Compare each Portuguese chapter with the English source to confirm identical meaning.
• Return each reviewed chapter within two calendar days of receipt, even if chapters arrive out of sequence.
• Apply a provided glossary of preferred term translations where applicable.

Required profile

• Professional experience in economics or related fields, with solid knowledge of digitalization and AI concepts.
• Fluent in both Portuguese and English, with strong attention to detail.
• Highly organized and able to work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
