MEAL Coordinator (MEAL Advisor) – Caracas

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council seeks a senior MEAL Coordinator to provide technical advice and capacity strengthening for monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning across its operations in Venezuela.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate participatory reviews of MEAL systems, staffing capacities, workflows, tools and coordination arrangements, identifying strengths and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and implement a prioritized MEAL strengthening plan with clear responsibilities, timelines and progress measures.
• Provide mentoring, coaching and hands‑on technical support to MEAL leadership and staff, including joint field visits and learning sessions.
• Support integration of MEAL throughout project cycle management, advising on theories of change, logframes, indicators, budgets and data collection methods.
• Strengthen community feedback mechanisms, ensure timely handling of complaints and promote accountability to affected populations.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of MEAL experience in humanitarian or development programmes, including country‑level technical coordination or advisory roles.
• Proven experience strengthening MEAL departments through collaborative assessment, improvement planning and sustained support.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills with ability to propose practical solutions.
