Lead Hydraulic Infrastructure Project Engineer

About the role

BTD is seeking a Lead Hydraulic Infrastructure Project Engineer to drive the planning, execution, and delivery of large‑scale water and hydraulic projects. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage EPC contracts, and ensure projects meet technical, safety, and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and analyse documentation to define project strategy.
• Develop technical and economic plans for assigned projects.
• Lead project teams, supervise progress, and control budgets.
• Negotiate and manage EPC contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with purchasing to optimise resources.
• Ensure compliance with procedures, safety, and environmental criteria.
• Maintain client, auditor, and stakeholder communications.
• Oversee payment, collection, and financial reporting.
• Monitor quality and progress throughout all execution phases.
• Prepare evaluation reports and manage project closure.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (civil, hydraulic or related).
• Minimum 10 years experience in civil works, with at least 5 years in water project management.
• Experience on international projects, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa or Latin America.
• Field experience in project execution.
• Fluent in French and English at negotiation level.
• Willingness to travel or relocate.
• Strong strategic, analytical, planning and organisational abilities.
