Kitchen Staff Substitute

About the role

Opaa! Food Management, Inc. is seeking a flexible Kitchen Staff Substitute to support food service operations across multiple locations on an as‑needed basis. The role involves preparing, cooking, and serving meals while ensuring food safety, quality, and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily set‑up of serving lines and ensure all food is held at required temperatures.
• Prepare menu items, baked goods, and batch‑cook meals according to Opaa! recipes and menu plans.
• Operate slicers, mixers, grinders and other kitchen equipment with proper certification.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas, including kitchen, cafeteria, and dishwashing stations.
• Manage inventory using FIFO procedures and keep cooler/storage racks tidy.
• Handle cash transactions and make change during service when required.
• Record production data, temperature logs, and complete food safety documentation (HACCP, HHFKA, CACFP).
• Participate in safety programs, meetings, and required training.

Required profile

• Ability to perform essential kitchen functions on an as‑needed basis.
• Certification or experience operating kitchen equipment safely.
• Understanding of food safety regulations and willingness to follow HACCP, HHFKA, and CACFP guidelines.
• Attention to detail for temperature monitoring and accurate record‑keeping.
