Fire Alarm Service Technician

About the role

Join Total Fire Protection as a Fire Alarm Service Technician, supporting the growth of the Fire Alarm Division. You will work under the Service Manager to oversee daily service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems for customers across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Perform servicing, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm and related detection/notification systems.
• Identify and resolve system trouble conditions while adhering to code requirements and manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct site surveys and system inspections, document deficiencies, and generate service tickets.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 72, NYC and Long Island building codes, and other relevant fire safety standards.
• Communicate technical issues clearly to supervisors, project engineers, and contractors.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of fire alarm system operation, installation, and maintenance.
• Familiarity with NFPA 72, recent updates, and the intent of the code.
• Understanding of NYC and Long Island local building and fire alarm code requirements.
• General knowledge of fire detection, mass notification, fire dynamics, smoke management, and egress systems.
• Ability to conduct thorough site surveys and write accurate service documentation.
