Employee Relations Partner

About the role
Maersk is seeking an Employee Relations Partner to drive healthy employee engagement and ensure constructive dialogue between management and staff. You will be responsible for applying the ER vision, strategy, and governance across the organization while managing relationships with unions and employee representative bodies.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute collective bargaining strategies in line with local ER principles.
- Lead negotiations with unions, delivering professional and sustainable agreements.
- Assess long‑term financial and operational impacts of agreements.
- Manage consultation processes with unions and employee representatives alongside HR and business leaders.
- Handle industrial actions in coordination with the Regional Employee Relations Director.
- Represent Maersk before local labor authorities in administrative matters.
- Oversee disciplinary procedures ensuring compliance with policy and labor law.
- Act as primary contact for employee grievances, conduct impartial investigations and facilitate resolutions.
- Partner with managers to ensure fair, consistent corrective actions.
- Provide expert advice to People Function professionals on ER matters.
- Recommend corrective or preventive measures based on case outcomes and trends.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, collective agreements, and company governance.
- Advise employees and managers on policies, procedures, and employment regulations.
- Collaborate with HR partners to update and communicate workplace policies.
- Integrate ER principles into new initiatives, employment term changes, and strategic projects.
Required profile
- Proven experience in collective bargaining and union negotiations.
- Strong knowledge of local labor legislation and collective agreements.
- Ability to assess financial and operational implications of ER decisions.
- Excellent investigative and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Effective stakeholder management with unions, employee councils, and senior leadership.
- Clear communication skills to promote transparent dialogue.
