Earthquake Response Manager – Venezuela

About the role

The Venezuela Earthquake Response Manager will lead the humanitarian response programme for older people affected by the recent catastrophic earthquake. Working closely with local implementing partners and HelpAge global teams, the manager will ensure an age‑friendly, inclusive, and high‑quality response.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the overall programmatic response, supporting 2‑5 local partners in start‑up and scale‑up.
• Ensure programme management aligns with Humanitarian Inclusion Standards and monitors quality of partner‑led activities.
• Provide capacity‑building support to implementing partners and make recommendations for improvement.
• Identify new funding opportunities and build partnerships to expand the humanitarian portfolio.
• Coordinate between local partners, HelpAge global teams, donors, clusters, UN agencies and NGOs.
• Lead Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEAL) activities, tracking progress and sharing evidence.
• Guarantee security of staff and assets and ensure compliance with external and internal standards.
• Act as primary representative with host government officials, donors and media, together with the Global Communications Manager.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing complex multi‑sector programmes in acute emergency situations.
