About the role
The Director of Programmes and External Engagement will lead the design, delivery and localisation of Save the Children’s programmes in Venezuela. This senior position oversees the programme department, drives fundraising strategy and supports advocacy and media campaigns.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the Country Strategic Plan and localisation strategy.
- Design and execute fundraising strategies and annual needs assessments.
- Manage heads of programme development, partnership management, localisation and MEAL units.
- Oversee risk management, emergency preparedness and programme‑level risk mitigation.
- Represent Save the Children with government, donors, UN agencies and other key stakeholders.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years management experience in international or humanitarian contexts.
- Senior country‑level leadership experience (e.g., Deputy Country Director, Head of Programs).
- Proven ability to design and manage complex programmes and budgets.
- Experience in localisation, partnership programming and remote team management.
- Strong analytical, negotiation and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
