Deputy Country Director for Programs (Caracas, Venezuela)

About the role

The Deputy Country Director for Programs (DCD‑P) will support the Country Director in leading Première Urgence Internationale’s humanitarian programmes in Venezuela. Based in Caracas, the DCD‑P ensures that programme activities are delivered on time, meet quality standards and align with the organisation’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee programme implementation across all bases, ensuring compliance with PUI charter, internal guidelines and contractual procedures.
• Monitor programme performance at mission level and challenge bases to improve quality.
• Lead needs‑and‑gaps analyses and propose new operations in coordination with Field and Technical Coordinators.
• Conduct donor mapping and develop fundraising strategies to diversify the donor portfolio.
• Directly manage the Technical Coordination Team and ensure adequate support for Field Coordinators and Deputy Field Coordinators.
• Represent the organisation in external meetings and clusters as delegated by the Country Director.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing humanitarian programmes in complex environments.
• Strong analytical skills to conduct needs assessments and design appropriate interventions.
• Demonstrated ability to develop fundraising strategies and engage with donors.
• Leadership experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Excellent communication skills for representation and coordination with partners.
