Civil & Structural Inspector – Venezuela

About the role

SGS, a global leader in testing, inspection and certification, is looking for experienced Civil / Structural Inspectors to support a range of projects in Venezuela. The role involves ensuring that civil and structural works meet the highest quality, safety and regulatory standards across diverse sectors such as oil & gas, power generation and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect foundations, buildings, industrial structures and infrastructure works.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with specifications, drawings, codes and client requirements.
• Verify reinforced concrete, structural steel erection, grouting and other civil construction activities.
• Witness and review site testing, including concrete and soil testing.
• Review construction drawings, inspection reports, quality documents and material certificates.
• Identify non‑conformities and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, clients and project teams to ensure quality compliance.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project quality records.
• Ensure adherence to SGS quality, safety and HSE requirements.

Required profile

• 5–15 years of experience in civil or structural inspection.
• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant civil inspection certifications preferred.
• Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, power generation, EPC or industrial projects.
