Assistant Project Manager

About the role

Join a dynamic nonprofit focused on disaster recovery and getting children back to school. The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager in planning, executing, and monitoring construction and recovery projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing project scopes, milestones, timelines, and budgets, and maintain tracking systems such as Salesforce, LW tracking, and MS Project.
• Support drawing and plan interpretation, quality‑control reviews, and regular site visits.
• Help establish safety practices, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and security procedures.
• Cover the Project Manager during breaks and provide backup for construction crew personnel as needed.
• Contribute to monitoring and evaluation frameworks, volunteer management, and procurement processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; architecture, civil or structural engineering preferred.
• Technical construction experience; familiarity with international humanitarian standards (Sphere, HAP) is a plus.
• Fluent English communication; Spanish is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work in adverse outdoor conditions.
