LLM Engineer (Tools) – Remote

About the role

BairesDev is seeking an experienced LLM Engineer (Tools) to design and operate Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers that connect large language models with external tools and data sources. This fully remote role focuses on building robust, production‑grade infrastructure that enables AI agents to interact seamlessly with APIs and real‑world environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production‑grade MCP servers for secure tool access.
• Implement and optimise tool‑calling logic and function schemas using Python or TypeScript.
• Build and manage API integrations that allow AI models to perform complex, multi‑step actions.
• Leverage Anthropic SDKs to create agentic workflows and standardized communication protocols.
• Define tool discovery mechanisms and ensure reliable, context‑aware model interactions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate external data sources and improve tool‑driven response performance.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on AI or LLM applications.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing MCP servers and tool‑calling architectures.
• Fluency in Python or TypeScript for backend services and API integration.
• Strong proficiency with the Anthropic SDK and connecting models to external data sources.
• Solid understanding of JSON schema design for function signatures and validation.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
