Communications Associate

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Communications Associate to support its mission in Venezuela. The role focuses on preparing and implementing communication and awareness‑raising initiatives, managing social media channels, and assisting with press materials.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation and implementation of communication and awareness‑raising (AWR) plans.
• Assist in rolling out awareness‑raising campaigns, including IOM X and other social media campaigns.
• Maintain IOM Venezuela’s social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, and potentially Instagram) by drafting content, creating assets, managing the editorial calendar, publishing posts, monitoring audience engagement, responding to messages/comments, and preparing performance reports.
• Help draft, edit, finalize, and disseminate press briefing notes and related communication materials.

Required profile

• Open to internal and external candidates; internal staff are considered first‑tier candidates, while external applicants are second‑tier.

Required skills

• Experience with social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
