Spanish Language Expert (Remote Contract)

About the role

As a Spanish Language Expert you will work remotely on a contract basis to help train next‑generation AI systems. You will ensure that Spanish content used for model training meets the highest linguistic quality, reflecting accurate grammar, tone, cultural relevance and correct terminology.

Key responsibilities

• Spot‑check Spanish items, identify quality issues and provide feedback through Discord and other communication channels.
• Update trainers and quality‑assurance contributors on new guidelines, workflow changes and quality expectations.
• Answer questions related to Spanish wording, grammar, register, cultural context and variant differences (Latin American vs. European).
• Activate and monitor remote contributors, encouraging participation and tracking availability.
• Create and maintain project documentation such as style guides, FAQs, trackers, honeypots and onboarding materials.
• Schedule and deliver onboarding and training sessions for new team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Spanish, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, Education, Quality Assurance or a related field.
• Native or near‑native Spanish proficiency with strong reading and writing skills.
• Excellent command of English for following guidelines and communicating with the team.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Spanish writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training or annotation.
• Deep knowledge of Spanish grammar, spelling, punctuation, accents, tone, register and cultural nuances, with ability to work with both Latin American and European variants.
• Experience leading or supporting remote language‑review teams is a strong plus.

• Proficiency with Discord for real‑time communication.
• Advanced use of Google Sheets and Google Docs for tracking and documentation.
• Familiarity with project‑management and dashboard tools.
• Ability to apply rubric‑based quality evaluation to language data.
