Wells Engineer – Drilling & Completion

About the role

Chevron Venezuela is seeking a Wells Engineer to join the PetroPiar joint venture in El Tigre, Anzoategui. The role focuses on technical drilling and completion engineering, delivering detailed well designs and supporting project execution under limited supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimize well designs, including directional planning, torque & drag (T&D) modeling, casing, wellhead, bit/BHA, drilling fluids, hydraulics, and cementing.
• Prepare cost estimates, project plans, and benchmark drilling performance.
• Act as liaison with Geology & Geophysics, business partners, and real‑time center teams.
• Lead or participate in peer reviews, risk assessments, pre‑spud meetings, and provide engineering support during execution.
• Manage medium‑scope projects that impact multiple work groups or the business unit.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in drilling and completion engineering for horizontal, extended‑reach, or thermal wells.
• Proven ability to deliver design alternatives, cost estimates, and adhere to technical standards.
• Experience with batch drilling/factory‑model operations and on‑shore projects.
• High proficiency in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking).
