WASH Officer – Contracts Administration (Temporary)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a WASH Officer to provide dedicated contract administration and technical support for its emergency response and recovery efforts in north‑central Venezuela. The position is a six‑month temporary appointment based in Caracas, focusing on the planning, design, procurement, implementation and monitoring of water, sanitation and hygiene interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for the planning, design, procurement and contracting of WASH interventions.
• Monitor implementation and ensure quality delivery of rehabilitation and restoration works.
• Serve as the primary liaison between programme teams, supply, operations, government counterparts and contractors.
• Collect, analyse and disseminate operational information on partner activities, coverage gaps and response progress.
• Support programme development, monitoring and results delivery.
• Contribute to humanitarian WASH preparedness, networking, partnership building and knowledge management.

Required profile

• Experience in large‑scale, multi‑state emergency WASH responses.
• Proven ability to manage contracts, procurement processes and monitoring activities.
• Strong coordination skills with UN agencies, NGOs and government institutions.
• Capacity to work under tight deadlines and deliver results in a humanitarian context.
