Vice President – Startup Fundraising Advisory

About the role

The Post Oak Group is seeking a senior investment banking professional to serve as a Vice President in Startup Fundraising Advisory. This client‑facing position will guide startup founders and CEOs through the entire capital‑raising process, from strategy to execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead fundraising strategy, advisory meetings and preparation sessions for founders and CEOs.
• Advise on valuation, capital structure, dilution, transaction timing and investor targeting.
• Refine pitch decks, investor presentations and financial narratives to strengthen positioning.
• Evaluate companies from an investor perspective, identify weaknesses in business models, KPIs and growth assumptions, and constructively challenge founders.
• Prepare founders for investor meetings, including diligence questions, objections and financial discussions.
• Review financial models, forecasts, cap tables and transaction materials while coordinating with internal analysts and deal teams.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in investment banking, venture capital, private equity, corporate finance or startup fundraising.
• Direct experience advising startups on capital raises from Seed through Series C.
• Strong executive presence and ability to communicate confidently with sophisticated founders, CEOs and investors.
• Exceptional spoken and written English and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced remote environment.
