University Advising & Orientation Consultant

About the role

Misstudy is seeking a full‑time remote University Advising & Orientation Consultant to guide students through every stage of their university journey, from program selection to cultural integration.

Key responsibilities

• Advise students on suitable programs, institutions and academic pathways that match their goals.
• Explain admission requirements, assist with application preparation, document review and deadline management.
• Support students in identifying, applying for and managing scholarships, grants and other financial‑aid options.
• Design and deliver virtual orientation sessions and resources that prepare students for academic, social and cultural aspects of university life.
• Maintain regular communication, track student progress and collaborate with partner institutions using digital platforms.

Required profile

• Strong academic advising and student‑counseling skills with experience in university admissions processes.
• Knowledge of international financial‑aid options and ability to explain requirements clearly.
• Proven ability to design and facilitate virtual workshops and orientation sessions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, active listening, empathy and confidentiality.
• Organizational and time‑management abilities to handle multiple student cases and meet timelines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, International Relations, Psychology or related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion and non‑discriminatory practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency with video‑conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
• Experience using CRM or student‑management systems.
• Familiarity with collaborative document platforms (e.g., Google Docs, Microsoft Office 365).
• Comfort with messaging and collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Teams chat).
