Supply & Logistics Officer – Temporary (6 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Supply & Logistics Officer (NO‑1) on a six‑month temporary appointment to support the emergency response following the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela in June 2026. The officer will work from the Caracas duty station, coordinating the procurement, transport and distribution of essential goods for children and families affected by the crisis.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor the procurement and delivery of relief items, including food, water, medical supplies and shelter materials.
• Manage inventory, warehousing and distribution processes to ensure timely and efficient flow of goods to affected locations.
• Collaborate with UNICEF country offices, government agencies and humanitarian partners to align logistics operations with the overall emergency response plan.
• Prepare logistics reports, track expenditures and ensure compliance with UNICEF procurement and supply‑chain policies.
• Provide technical advice on customs clearance, transport routes and storage conditions in a rapidly changing emergency environment.

Required profile

• University degree in logistics, supply chain management, procurement or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in logistics or supply management, preferably in humanitarian or emergency contexts.
• Familiarity with UNICEF or UN logistics standards and emergency response procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with the capacity to work under pressure.
