Senior Supply Chain Associate – Procurement

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Associate – Procurement to lead and support procurement activities at its Caracas office. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and the Resources Management Officer, the role ensures the acquisition of goods and services aligns with IOM’s mission of humane migration support.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate prices, terms and conditions to secure best value.
• Coordinate with internal departments to understand procurement needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies for timely and cost‑effective acquisition.
• Prepare, review and issue RFQs, RFPs and ITB documents.
• Manage the end‑to‑end procurement cycle, including purchase request consolidation, bidding process organization, order follow‑up and supplier payment.
• Assist supervisors with complex, high‑value purchases and support the creation of procurement plans.
• Participate in negotiations and help resolve issues related to purchases.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in an international or humanitarian setting.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate proposals, negotiate contracts and manage bidding processes.
• Strong coordination skills with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Experience developing procurement strategies and plans.
• Ability to work under the supervision of senior management and support project implementation.
