Senior QA Engineer

About the role

Makai is seeking a proactive Senior QA Engineer to join its remote team. You will be the hands‑on expert driving quality initiatives for the Makai Automation Platform, ensuring product reliability, performance and user satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end QA lifecycle: analyse requirements, design test strategies, create checklists, execute tests and report release readiness.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, compatibility and exploratory testing of complex web applications.
• Conduct API testing with Postman and validate backend logic by writing and executing complex SQL queries.
• Manage defect lifecycle: identify, document, track and verify bug fixes in close collaboration with developers.
• Advocate quality best practices and provide feedback during grooming and sprint planning.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional QA experience testing complex web applications.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and methodical testing approach.
• Excellent written and spoken English and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Modern QA methodologies and test design techniques (equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis).
• Database testing with SQL; experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Test automation tools such as Cypress, Playwright or Selenium.
• Ability to read JavaScript, TypeScript or Python code.
• API testing using Postman.
• Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
