Senior Operations & Production Manager

About the role

The Senior Operations & Production Manager will be accountable for the safe, reliable and profitable operation of upstream assets in El Tigre, Venezuela. Reporting to the Country Manager and functionally to the Group COO, you will lead field operations, production delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day operation of wells, production facilities, gathering systems, pipelines and supporting infrastructure to meet production targets safely and efficiently.
• Drive production optimization, identify bottlenecks, reduce losses and implement improvement initiatives in collaboration with Production Technology, Reservoir and Subsurface teams.
• Provide operational leadership for drilling, workovers and well interventions, ensuring safe execution and rapid return‑to‑production.
• Oversee facilities, maintenance and reliability programs, set priorities for assets and champion asset integrity.
• Develop annual operating plans, production forecasts, activity schedules and manage budgets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical or related engineering; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive upstream experience with at least 5 years in a senior operational leadership role.
• Extensive experience with heavy‑oil assets, artificial lift, flow assurance, workovers and mature‑field challenges.
• Strong analytical judgment, disciplined execution and ability to lead multidisciplinary field‑based teams.
• Fluent Spanish and professional English (written and spoken).
