Senior Backend Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to design, develop, and optimise scalable backend systems. The role focuses on Python, Django/DRF, and PostgreSQL while supporting secure, high‑performance applications in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework.
• Manage PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, indexing, query optimisation and performance tuning.
• Implement logging, monitoring and troubleshooting with the ELK stack.
• Create and maintain containerised environments using Docker.
• Apply secure development practices such as encryption and authentication.
• Utilise Redis for caching and performance improvements.
• Collaborate on cloud‑based solutions using AWS services as needed.
• Support asynchronous task processing with Celery and real‑time features with WebSockets when required.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience as a backend developer.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work independently in a remote setting.
• Consistent availability according to the client‑defined schedule (Monday‑Friday, 6 AM‑2 PM GMT‑5).
