Senior Aviation Specialist (Non‑Key Expert)

About the role

NTU International A/S is seeking a Senior Aviation Specialist to join a multi‑year Global Gateway transport project. The expert will provide technical, policy and investment support for aviation infrastructure and air‑transport initiatives across Sub‑Saharan Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia‑Pacific.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, design and implement airport and air‑transport projects, including master planning and connectivity strategies.
• Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments, project design reviews and investment analyses.
• Advise on airport systems, operational efficiency, safety, security and compliance with international and European standards.
• Support procurement, tendering, supervision, and operation‑and‑maintenance planning for aviation assets.
• Promote sustainable, low‑carbon aviation and integrate climate‑resilience, disaster‑risk reduction and ESG considerations into project planning.
• Assist policy, regulatory and institutional reforms and improve investment climates for aviation services.
• Provide capacity‑building and technical assistance to civil aviation authorities, airport operators and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate with public authorities, IFIs, development partners and industry actors to ensure adoption of best practices.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in aviation infrastructure, airport planning or air‑transport policy.
• Proven track record in feasibility studies, investment analysis and project design for large‑scale transport projects.
• Strong knowledge of international aviation standards, safety and security regulations.
• Experience working with multilateral development institutions, public‑sector clients and international donors.
• Ability to work in multicultural environments and travel to project sites worldwide.
