Roving WASH Coordinator

About the role

The Roving WASH Coordinator will oversee the planning, implementation, monitoring and quality assurance of water, sanitation and hygiene activities across Venezuela. Working directly in the field, the coordinator ensures that communities receive safe water, functional sanitation facilities and effective hygiene promotion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, rehabilitation and construction of water supply and sanitation systems, including those in health facilities.
• Plan and execute community‑based WASH interventions, distribute kits and promote hygiene practices.
• Supervise field teams, coordinate with local authorities, NGOs and UN partners, and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Prepare regular reports, monitor performance indicators and ensure compliance with humanitarian standards.
• Provide technical guidance and quality control for all WASH activities.

Required profile

• Legal right to live and work in Venezuela.
• Degree in water engineering, environmental engineering, WASH or a related discipline.
• Minimum two years of professional experience managing WASH programmes, preferably with NGOs, UN agencies or humanitarian organisations.
• Proven experience in community WASH projects, safe water supply, sanitation, hygiene promotion and WASH kit distribution.
• Fluent Spanish; English proficiency is an advantage.
