Risk Manager (P-4) – Temporary Appointment

About the role

The Risk and Compliance Manager will lead the strengthening of risk assurance and compliance activities for UNICEF’s country office in Venezuela. Reporting to the Representative, you will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of risk management practices across processes, systems and the entity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide risk management support, including identification, assessment and mitigation of operational and financial risks.
• Deliver compliance support to ensure adherence to UNICEF policies, donor requirements and local regulations.
• Oversee fraud risk management activities and coordinate investigations as needed.
• Advise senior management on risk‑related matters and promote a risk‑aware culture.
• Design and deliver capacity‑building sessions on risk assurance and compliance for staff.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in finance, law, public administration or a related field.
• Significant experience in risk management, compliance or audit within an international or humanitarian context.
• Proven ability to work in complex, fragile environments and to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and advisory skills, with experience in developing risk frameworks.
