Risk Manager (P-4) – Temporary Appointment in Caracas

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Risk Manager (P-4) on a temporary appointment to strengthen risk assurance and compliance across its Venezuela country office. Reporting to the Representative, you will support the organization’s humanitarian response by ensuring robust risk management practices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide risk management support, including development and implementation of risk frameworks.
• Deliver compliance support and monitor adherence to internal and external regulations.
• Manage fraud risk, conduct investigations and recommend mitigation measures.
• Offer oversight and advisory services to senior management on risk‑related matters.
• Build awareness and capacity among staff through training and guidance.
• Provide context‑specific risk assurance and advisory support aligned with UNICEF’s humanitarian mandate.

Required profile

• Proven experience in risk management, compliance or internal audit, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
• Ability to work under the supervision of senior leadership while taking initiative.
• Strong analytical and advisory skills to support decision‑making.
• Excellent communication skills to build awareness and capacity across teams.
