National Grants Specialist – Humanitarian Operations

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a highly qualified national Grants Specialist to support the management of its donor‑funded portfolio in Venezuela. Based in Caracas, the role ensures compliance with donor regulations and DRC policies while facilitating effective proposal development and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high‑quality contract management, flagging risks and supporting amendments, extensions and revisions.
• Coordinate and facilitate grant kickoff, review and closing meetings, tracking progress against timelines.
• Update and monitor DRC’s Grants Management Cards on Microsoft Dynamics and internal SharePoint documentation.
• Maintain the grants tracker and ensure regular communication with regional offices, headquarters and field teams.
• Support implementation teams in understanding contractual obligations, monitoring the grants portfolio and ensuring timely reporting.
• Troubleshoot gaps in deliverables, inform relevant staff and seek advice on donor‑compliant solutions.
• Assist with reporting and contribute to new business development activities.

Required profile

• National candidate with proven experience in grants management within the humanitarian sector.
• Strong knowledge of donor compliance requirements and DRC regulations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical coordinators, support service managers and senior management.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
