Mapping Data Collection Driver – Field Operations

About the role

Terry Soot Management Group is looking for reliable, safety‑focused drivers to support a large‑scale mapping data collection project. You will operate client‑provided vehicles equipped with specialised mapping equipment, travelling across assigned zones to capture high‑quality street‑level data.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate client‑provided vehicles with mapping and data‑collection hardware.
• Collect mapping data efficiently while following project guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of vehicles and equipment.
• Identify safe local parking spots, secure and cover the vehicle daily.
• Report incidents, traffic accidents, or public interactions professionally.
• Coordinate daily tasks and issue resolution with the Camp Coordinator.
• Meet daily and weekly delivery targets in collaboration with project coordinators.
• Travel long distances and work in “hotel mode” for extended assignments.
• Maintain accurate inventory and device logs in the designated system.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of driving experience, including at least 2 years of professional driving (taxi, delivery, logistics, courier).
• Good command of English.
• Defensive, calm, and safety‑oriented driving style.
• Comfortable driving larger vehicles such as vans or trucks.
• Ability to work independently in high‑traffic, stressful conditions.
• Polite, professional demeanor when interacting with the public.

Required skills

• Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation tools.
• Basic technical and mechanical knowledge (e.g., changing tires, reading vehicle gauges).
