Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for daily upkeep and preventive maintenance of facility infrastructure and processing equipment at Sotera Health. Working under the Maintenance Supervisor, you will ensure equipment reliability, safety compliance, and minimal downtime in a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine daily maintenance tasks for the facility and scheduled preventive maintenance on processing equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures, recommend corrective actions, and execute repairs promptly to restore operational status.
• Identify required materials, obtain pricing, complete purchase orders and, with supervisor approval, order supplies.
• Coordinate with operations personnel and external contractors regarding work orders.
• Adhere to all facility safety programs and assist with additional tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Five years of maintenance experience in a processing or manufacturing setting preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak fluent English.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lb and tolerate high temperature (up to 120 °F) and humidity (60 % RH) for short periods.
• Medical clearance for respirator use.

Required skills

• Knowledge of 480‑volt 3‑phase power systems.
• Ability to read and interpret ladder logic and electrical diagrams.
• Electric motor control troubleshooting.
• Repair and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
• Operation of welding equipment and cutting torch.
• Safe use of hand and power tools.
