About the role
The Logistics & Procurement Officer joins the Emergency Response Team on an on‑call roster, deploying to disaster‑affected locations to manage the full supply chain of humanitarian relief. This role is central to sourcing, transporting, storing and distributing life‑saving items while ensuring compliance with organisational and donor policies.
Key responsibilities
- Lead on‑ground procurement, logistics, warehousing and asset‑management operations in emergency settings.
- Rapidly source, transport, store and distribute relief items to affected populations.
- Identify, onboard and manage vendors in coordination with global departments.
- Establish and maintain efficient logistics infrastructure in austere, rapidly changing environments.
- Ensure all activities comply with organisational policies, donor requirements, ethical standards and applicable laws.
- Coordinate closely with field teams, headquarters, partners and external stakeholders.
Required profile
- Proven experience in logistics and procurement within humanitarian or emergency response contexts.
- Ability to operate effectively in austere, high‑pressure environments.
- Strong knowledge of compliance requirements for donors and humanitarian agencies.
- Excellent coordination skills with field, headquarters and partner teams.
