Lead HVACR Technician – US Embassy Caracas

About the role

We are seeking a Lead HVACR Technician to join the Amentum team at the U.S. Embassy in Caracas. The role involves leading the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration equipment across the embassy facility, supporting the DiPSS Venezuela BLS contract for the U.S. Department of State.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace and comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
• Perform maintenance and repair on window air‑conditioners, split units (up to 5 tons), and package units (up to 50 tons).
• Service variable‑frequency drives (VFDs) and associated motors ranging from 5 hp to 40 hp.
• Maintain chillers, chilled‑water circulation pumps, refrigerated containers, and walk‑in coolers.
• Troubleshoot chiller control boards and work safely around high AC and DC voltages.
• Repair VAV boxes, electric heaters, exhaust fans, and use refrigerant charging and recovery equipment.
• Generate daily reports, work orders, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Provide 24/7 on‑call support for critical issues.

Required profile

• Minimum ten (10) years of commercial HVACR repair experience.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lb and perform physical labor safely.
• Strong organizational, communication, and independent decision‑making skills.
• Experience delivering excellent customer service in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and risk‑management practices.
