Junior Collections Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Junior Collections Specialist to support the collection of outstanding balances for mitigation and property restoration services. The role is fully remote and involves direct interaction with customers and insurance adjusters to ensure timely payment of invoices.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer and insurance‑related accounts.
• Contact customers and adjusters by phone and email to follow up on payments and confirm receipt of invoices, estimates, and supporting documents.
• Track claim status, payment timelines, pending checks, partial payments, and outstanding balances.
• Identify missing documents, billing discrepancies, or reasons for payment delays.
• Communicate with adjusters regarding reduced payments, denied line items, and additional documentation requests.
• Assist with invoice and payment negotiations within company guidelines.
• Submit revised invoices, explanations, and reconsideration requests when needed.
• Coordinate with project managers, estimators, technicians, and accounting to resolve account issues.
• Document all communications and commitments in the company system.
• Prioritize overdue accounts and escalate high‑risk cases.

Required profile

• 6 to 12 months of experience in collections, accounts receivable, billing, customer service, or insurance claim follow‑up.
• Strong spoken and written English.
• Comfortable making outbound calls and handling payment‑related conversations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, organization, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and meet follow‑up deadlines.
• Attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping.
• Self‑motivated and productive in a remote work environment.
• Reliable internet connection, computer, headset, and private workspace.
