Health & Nutrition Officer (NO-1) – Temporary (6 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Health & Nutrition Officer (NO-1) for a six‑month temporary appointment in Caracas, Venezuela. The role supports the humanitarian response to the recent earthquakes, focusing on restoring essential health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene services for affected children, pregnant and lactating women, and displaced families.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate multisectoral health and nutrition interventions in emergency settlements.
• Monitor and assess the quality and accessibility of health facilities, nutrition programs, and WASH services.
• Support the procurement and distribution of medicines, medical supplies, and nutrition commodities.
• Collect and analyse data on morbidity, mortality and nutrition status to inform response planning.
• Collaborate with national authorities, UN agencies and NGOs to align actions with the Humanitarian Response Plan.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in public health, nutrition, medicine or a related field.
• Experience working in emergency or humanitarian settings, preferably in Latin America.
• Strong understanding of health‑nutrition linkages, WASH, and supply‑chain logistics.
• Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency is an advantage.
