Health & Nutrition Officer (NO-1) – Temporary (6 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Health & Nutrition Officer (NO‑1) for a six‑month temporary appointment based in Caracas, Venezuela. The officer will support UNICEF’s health and nutrition response in the aftermath of the recent earthquakes, contributing to the delivery of essential services for children, pregnant and lactating women, and other vulnerable groups.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the coordination and implementation of health and nutrition interventions in emergency‑affected areas.
• Support the monitoring of health facilities, water, sanitation and hygiene services, and supply chains for medicines and nutrition supplies.
• Collaborate with national authorities, UN partners and NGOs to scale up multisectoral actions for affected communities.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in public health, nutrition, or a related field.
• Experience working in humanitarian or emergency contexts is desirable.

Required skills

• Knowledge of health and nutrition programmes in crisis settings.
